At The Ho99o9 Show
Ho99o9 played a free all ages concert at the Brooklyn venue St. Vitus. Our correspondent Sarah Craig was there to witness and document the excitement.
Punk-rap spazzers Ho99o9 (pronounced “horror”) played a free all ages concert at the Brooklyn venue St. Vitus. They were joined by friends The Death Set and Hoddy, The Young Jedi. Ho9909 are Los Angeles-based by way of Newark, NJ. In 2014 they were on Rolling Stone’s “10 Artists You Need To Know” list. The group is currently on tour in support of their most recent release Cyber Warfare.
“Ho99o9 wanted to do something for their fans because they had a day off of their arena tour opening for Korn and Alice In Chains.” St. Vitus owner David Castillo told us. St. Vitus is an underground institution since opening in 2011, having hosted everything from local shows and goth-y club nights to secret first come first served concerts by acts like Nirvana (featuring guest vocals by Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth, Joan Jett , and J Mascis) The Misfits, Anthrax, Megadeth, Bjork, and countless others.
Often at events like these, the sheer spectacle and vibrancy of the crowd as they line up outside the venue is on par with the show itself. Our correspondent Sarah Craig was there to document the excitement prior to the doors opening, as well as the performances.
